In February 2009, we had a message from a John Gilbert who wrote "...my mothers name was Ena Gates who was born in Church Street in the cottages east of what was Robinsons store..."  John kindly shared this photograph with us and it would be nice to know if any of the players are known as he wonders about a possible family connection somewhere.  Does anyone know any of the people? The football is marked "Higham C.S. F.C. 1924-5".

We have been given a set of photographs taken in perhaps the late 1950s or early 60s of people in Higham at social functions. These include a dance in the old nissen-hut style Memorial Hall; activities on the rec; carnival floats and stalls; Miss Higham competition winners etc.. We have no information about these pictures and would like your help to try and identify the people, events and dates.  Two examples of the photographs are shown here.

Do you recognise the occasion or people in this photograph? HVHG need your help.

The pictures have been displayed in Higham Library, Forge Lane in November 2006.  Also, the photographs were on display at our 30th November 2006 evening meeting.

If you can help us with more details on the subjects, please email HVHG, click here.
